What is Reiki and Why You Need It?
Oh, I know what you’re thinking, Reiki is witch stuff and a lot of woo woo! Well, I’m going to put down my broomstick and ease your mind (and who knows, perhaps entice you to a session).
Now have you ever had an issue or blockage in your life that you just can’t shift?
No doubt you’ve spoken to counsellors, read books or even tried medication? Now if none of that has worked, then perhaps Reiki is for you.
What is Reiki?
First of all, yes – it is an alternative therapy.
Reiki is Energy Healing and soulmates to stress. Aka - supporting each other through good times and bad.
Reiki is a holistic healing practice. Holistic means ‘whole’, so of the whole mind-body-spirit. It is not attached to religion in any way unless relaxation is your religion (it sure is mine).
Technically, it’s an ancient healing modality from Japan in the late 1800s where ‘universal life force’ energy is channelled through the palms of the practitioner to the recipient.
Used as a form of relaxation to alleviate stress should be reason enough to have you all searching for your nearest practitioner, but Reiki offers so much more than this.
Using ‘universal life force energy’, Reiki works in conjunction with your body’s own energy field commonly known as Chakras.
Picture (if you can) seven individual spinning discs of energy that run from the base of your spine up to the top of your head. The spinning of these discs, aka Chakras, vibrate out through the rest of the body with each individual Chakra related to specific organs of the body.
When our body is running at its highest vibration, all of our Chakras are then deemed to be clear and working at their optimum energy level, which as mentioned vibrates through your body allowing it to also be running at its optimal level.
When our body becomes run down, and let’s face it unless you’re superwoman, we all get that way no matter how diligent we are with the daily stresses of life, affecting us physically, emotionally and mentally, the vibration becomes sluggish trying to cope with these stresses and slows down or stops altogether. This is known as having blocked Chakra and it is here when illness can occur.
Enter the Reiki Practitioner.
Reiki uses its channelled energy to not only assess what Chakras may be blocked but this ‘life force’ energy clears any blockages and reinstates this energy to increase your natural healing vibration for optimal wellbeing.
If you are open to its benefits you will certainly reap the rewards by helping ease physical, emotional and mental ailments in the gentlest and most nurturing way.
I think we can all agree stress is the key factor in all ailments of the body. It contributes to our mental, emotional and physical state of health and the body’s own natural ability to heal and no one is immune to stress. In fact, it's safe to say we all experience stress and often. Managing stress it is our best defence and Reiki certainly delivers in the ‘stress-less’ category.
